Hard House Heaven: 4 May 2008
Heaven is a brilliant club in London that I have always loved and is somewhere where my friends and I have always had good nights so I was really excited when I got asked to play there @ HHH in May this year!

The theme for the night was Space and I was set to play 11-12 in the Planet Amazon room: the all-girl room! We set off early from ours so that we got to the club in plenty of time as I would never have forgiven myself if I’d missed my set because I was doing my hair, lol! When we got there Nat showed me the room we were going to play in and when I saw it I couldn’t stop smiling – it was lush! Normally the VIP room, turned all-girl room for HHH – open brickwork, floor to ceiling mirrors, plants, sofas…just gorgeous really! And top-notch dj equipment, which is the main thing for me so I was very chuffed!

Scott Forshaw was playing in the main room and was playing some really cool funky tunes – one I particularly remember hearing was his & Wain’s remix of Arms of Loren, originally a trance tune that I loved years ago, now updated and much more fun. I met up with a few friends and had a little wiggle whilst waiting for my set.

I caught the beginning of Elvis’ set, which seemed to be going down well but around 10.45pm, I made my way to the Planet Amazon room where Donna DD was playing some good tech trance. I began to get my tunes & headphones out, getting organised to calm my nerves!

It was soon her last tune and as I cued up my first tune, some more people started to trickle into our room. Lots of friends came in to say hi & come and support me, which I really appreciated. I opened with a funky tune called Feel it and after 2 or 3 tracks, the room started to fill up and by about halfway through my set, the room was really busy, which I was surprised and delighted at! It was brilliant to be able to play my new tracks, Get Down and Don’t Stop and what an amazing sight to see so many people dancing for my set! I ended with a brilliant tune called Diskotek and was able to have a dance as April stepped up to the decks for her set.

Next we headed back into the main room for the 2nd half of Steve O’Brady’s set, where he had the room heaving with clubbers dancing away to his bouncy tunes. Steve, you will be missed.

The set times of Cally and Nathalie clashed so I went to the front to stomp for half of Cally’s set. As usual, her tune selection was brilliant and mixing was spot-on! My housemate, Liv, and I loved Partridge This and Matt Lee’s remix of Over 4 Me – anyone would’ve been able to tell by our screams of delight, haha! Then we went to have a wiggle for the rest of Nat’s set where she played ace tunes such as Stalker (Hoodlams remix) and All of my Life (Aluna).

Next was Caz Wood who played a really bouncy set and some tunes with cool, warpy baselines. She had lots of people singing along to Cry and Insanity; her set flew by!

By this point, I was starting to get tired but Nicky D came to the decks and played some good hard trance then took it up a notch playing tunes like Badass and a brilliant remix of Loops n Tings.

Next up in the Planet Amazon room was Mini-Minx who played a really hard set, just what you need at 4am to get your feet moving! It was a bit confusing at the end of her hour as all the lights suddenly came on and we wondered whether K8-e was going to be able to play her set. However, she soon started and was playing well but everyone was really tired so as we began to say our goodbyes to everyone.

There were so many other DJs that I wanted to see but there just wasn’t time! I heard that Technikal, Frisky and Cally & Juice all played brilliant sets.

I enjoyed my set immensely and my feet hurt by the end of the night which is always a sure sign that I’ve had a good stomp! All in all, I had a fantastic night and am so grateful for the opportunity of playing there!!!

AWsum vs. Kiddfectious: 25 May 2008
Being held at the famous Ministry of Sound and with a brilliant line-up (bar myself of course, hehe!), I was really looking forward to this event and OH MY GOD, it did not disappoint!

After a slightly delayed start to the night, we got into the club quickly and without fuss, which is always good! As we walked into the 2nd room, Nathalie and Jordan Suckley were playing a mixture of bouncy and hard tunes getting us well and truly warmed up for the night.

As arranged Kevsey D took to the decks at 11pm to play a tribute set for Steve. He opened with Set U Free and Steve’s bouncy remix of I don’t care, which was brilliant. Kevsey played so, so well and I’m sure Steve would’ve been smiling down on him feeling very proud of his friend.

I then stuck around in the 2nd room to catch Klubfiller’s set, which was packed full of energy and some really wkd tunes! I particularly loved The Way of Life – hardstyle made fun! Some of my friends went to see Andy Farley play in the main room and I was told that he played a really good hard set.

After Klubfiller, I made my way to the main room for the ‘Princess of Hard House’, Cally Gage. She opened with her new tune made with BK, which I thought went down really well. Cally played a brilliantly hard set - her mixing was faultless as usual! Particularly loved Rush on me, Partridge This & Hybridize!

Then next up in the main room was ‘The Saviour’, Andy Whitby. Now, I have seen a number of amazing sets from him but this one was something particularly special - he pulled out all the stops for his night and played the most incredible set I think I’ve ever seen him play! Anyone seeing him for the first time was in for a real treat – tune after tune of amazing hard dance together with him going nuts behind the decks – pure brilliance! I really wanted him to carry on playing but don't think my heart could've taken it…I was knackered!! I loved so many of the tunes Andy played but my favourite ones of his set were U're Shining, What U do, Stalker and his & Matt Lee's new remix of a brilliant hardcore tune called Number 1.

After Andy’s set I needed to get some air and as he didn't finish his set til 3.40am I didn't get to see Caz Wood play unfortunately but heard that she played really well.

After cooling down a bit, we made our way upstairs to see Mike Avery play a wkd set. I was starting to flag by then but his tune selection soon gave me the energy that I needed to keep dancing!

Finally, I caught some of Matt Lee's set and he seemed to be rocking the main room which was still busy even at 5.30am!

What an amazing night – the best hard dance night I’ve had out in absolutely ages!! Bring on the next AWsum, woo wooooo!!
